Saint-Exupéry — The Little Prince

1943 copyright date; later printing

This copy carries the book's original 1943 copyright date — though not, on close inspection, its original binding.

“Saint-Ex,” as Anthony still calls him, wrote a few hundred words that have outlasted most of what floods a screen today. This copy is a later printing that kept the original 1943 copyright line, common practice for decades afterward. Its dedication is still the original one — to his friend Léon Werth, “when he was a little boy” — and a later reader, Judy Bell, added her own name to the front page.

Cloth boards, quarto. Light wear at corners.

“Saint-Ex — an adventurer and a writer. A few hundred words that stand the test of time better than the billions that flood our screens now.” Anthony
